Reference project "International Mid-sized Trading Company": A new central warehouse had been set up, but error rates were very high and other key parameters were less than satisfactory. Because of further logistics projects that could not be postponed, there was an absolutely urgent need for action regarding the new central warehouse.
Challenge: Provision of a logistics expert specializing in warehouse management, to optimize the efficiency of the new central warehouse as quickly as possible.
Result:Establishment of an efficient communication structure and integration of CIP (Continuous Improvement Process) methods in the new central warehouse, so that error causes became visible very quickly and appropriate measures could be initiated.
Error rates were reduced to a minimum, and other key performance metrics were significantly improved.
The planned follow-up projects for the new central warehouse did not have to be postponed and were launched as scheduled. A new logistics manager was onboarded, and a corresponding handover was carried out.
Project duration: 9 months
Special feature of the project: The client's budget was limited. We had to find an interim manager who could run the project part-time and distribute responsibility across several people.
